Professional Coaching for Your Change of Career

  • Are you stuck in a rut?
  • Are you bored with your job?
  • Do you want a change of career but not sure of the direction to take?
  • Do you lack the confidence to make the changes you want?

  • ros.jpgIf you answer Yes to any of these, I can help. I am a fully trained professional life coach specialising in career change and confidence building.

Working in a job you hate, living just for the weekend and dreading Monday morning is no way to live a life.  Believe me, I've been there.

We spend almost half of our waking ours working, and for some people it's even more than that.  That's not counting the time taken getting ready for work and commuting to and from work.  What you are left with is very little quality time.

Doesn't it make sense to find a job or career that you can enjoy?  Perhaps even be meaningful to you, and give you a sense of fulfilment? Instead of having a job that just pays the mortgage, why not have a job that expresses who you are as a person?  A change of career may be what's needed, but it can feel scary for many people.

Here are some of the benefits of hiring me as your life coach:
    • You will get a clear picture of your values and what you want out of life
    • You will choose a job or career that will be enjoyable and fulfilling
    • You will be able to set realistic goals
    • You will increase your self belief and confidence in your ability to achieve your goals
    • You will be able to resolve issues and challenges in a constructive way
    • You will be more motivated and find getting out of bed in the morning is easier!

"...it is possible to have a career I could love..."

'I have been able to identify my priorities in a career and define what it is I want..... Most useful I think has been to realise that it is possible to have a career I could love and not just to do what I feel I ought to.' quoted from previous client testimonial

What is life coachingProfessional life coaching is a way of working with a client that helps to clear self-limiting beliefs, encouraging them to find the next step forward and supporting them as they challenge their fears or obstacles. Quite simply, we decide together what it is you want, and we find the way of getting there. It involves commitment from both the coach and the client and the experience can be fun, challenging, inspiring, emotional and empowering. If you are uncomfortable about meeting face-to-face, coaching can be done over the phone, or by email (see my E-coaching page).

What is the difference between life coaching and counselling?  People sometimes confuse the two, but although the coach and the counseller may use similar skills and techniques, the process is quite different.  Counsellers often focus on past traumas, and work with the client through often very difficult emotions and issues.  Professional coaching is focused on the present and future, and although we may sometimes touch on the past to see what has caused a present-day belief, any professional coach would never try to deal with deeply traumatic issues, and would, in this case, refer the client to a counsellor or psychologist.

Life coaching is unbiased, non-judgmental and completely confidential.  Professional life coaching does not involve giving advice (unless it is specifically asked for), but in working with the client to discover what is best for them.
